The Lonely Wolf

The Muse is a mysterious creature indeed.

AUDIO: The Lonely Wolf

SHARED: Renegade Tribune

The lonely wolf
Is hard to tame
Though time and tide
Have worn his mane
His eyes are closed
His teeth are worn
And long ago his heart was torn

This lonely wolf
Has kept his name
Both hair and hide
On him remain
And in repose
His teeth do mourn
The taste to which his tongue was sworn

Our lonely wolf
Missed not his fame
For kin he cried
Not pride nor shame
Then in him rose
His blood reborn
As if his pack had blown a horn

Now lonely wolf
From woods he came
His heart the guide
The prey to claim
Returned to those
One fateful morn
No longer lonely wolf forlorn

The lonely wolf
Is hard to tame
And time and tide
May wear his mane
Now eyes impose
And teeth do warn
A call of wolves the stars adorn
